Best Virginia completes summer roster with one final big man addition
Former West Virginia big man Devin Williams is joining the Best Virginia roster for this summer's TBT, the team announced on social media this afternoon. The 6-foot-9 forward, and former top-60 recruit, began his career with the Mountaineers in 2013, and played for three seasons under Bob Huggins. During that time, Williams appeared in 102 contests with 99 starts.
Volleyball Announces 2024 Non-Conference Schedule
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and the volleyball team, released the 2024 non-conference schedule on Monday morning. The Mountaineers kick off the 2024 season at the Wake Forest Invitational on August 30-Septemeber 1 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. West Virginia begins the 2024 campaign versus Navy on August 30 at 3 p.m. ET. McDonough (Ga.) Dutchtown 2026 defensive lineman Ayden Cain is just starting the process of building a relationship with West Virginia but plans to visit campus later this month. WVU Basketball alum Gabe Osabuohien is once again giving back to the community that cheered him on for three seasons. Osabuohien announced Monday that he will be hosting a backpack giveaway for the second year in a row in efforts of supporting children in the St. Albans, Logan, Fairmont, Morgantown, Grafton, Roane, and Glenville areas in West Virginia. The event will run from August 2 to August 10, with the giveaway dates for each city being announced July 28.

Chris Brunson, the championship-winning softball coach at Mount Pleasant Area, was hired last week to lead the program at Waynesburg University. Brunson steps down after six successful seasons guiding the Vikings, during which he compiled a mark of 72-33. His banner year came in 2021, when Mount Pleasant went 21-3, blasting Ellwood City 15-0 to win the WPIAL Class 3A Championship, and following with a 5-3 win against Mid Valley to claim state gold. Brunson, who also previously served as the athletic director at Mount Pleasant, played baseball at Hempfield Area and California University of Pennsylvania. He was an assistant baseball coach with the Vulcans for 14 years. This spring, Waynesburg went 23-18 overall, including 10-10 in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference. The Yellow Jackets made the conference title game before falling to top-seeded Westminster College.
