Roseville to crack down on illicit massage activity
ROSEVILLE, Calif. — The Roseville City Council voted unanimously Wednesday to approve an ordinance increasing requirements for massage businesses. According to Roseville, the main reason for updating the municipal code is to address challenges with illicit massage business activity. Of the 150 to 200 massage establishments or independent contractors in the city, about 30 are engaged in illicit massage activity, Community Service Officer Erika Broussard said at the meeting.
States force green transition in public transportation despite taxpayer burden
(The Center Square) – Despite a hefty taxpayer price tag, several states are requiring cities to transition their public transportation to emitting zero greenhouse gasses. Since 2022, seven states have passed laws to transition to zero-emission school buses. In Illinois, a law passed last year requiring all transit agencies to purchase zero-emission buses by 2026. Similar legislation was passed in California, Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland and New York. ...

– The California Mid-State Fair announced that 18-year-old Megan Pagnini of Paso Robles has been crowned the 2024 Miss California Mid-State Fair Queen and Miss Congeniality. Ashlee Holt, 18, of Paso Robles, was named 1st Runner Up, and Logan Rutherford, 21, of Paso Robles, was named 2nd Runner Up.
