The Best Restaurants On Las Olas
Las Olas is a historic street in Fort Lauderdale with walkable sidewalks, views of canals, and art galleries showing hyperrealistic paintings of predatory cats. It’s lovely on a pretty day. But it is, sadly, not where the best restaurants in Fort Lauderdale live. As is often the case on touristy streets like this, the food on Las Olas can be overpriced and underwhelming. Rising ocean water temperatures cause an early onset of the summer doldrums for area anglers
Hopefully, you went out on Sunday and took advantage of the one-day mini-lobster season. From the reports I got, the numbers were good for many, but there were a lot of boats on the water, making it hard to find a spot that hadn’t been picked over already. We will have to wait until the real two-day mini-season happens on the last Wednesday and Thursday of July to see if it affected the numbers of lobsters normally caught during the mini-season.
