Pierpont College hosts 5th Annual Maker Camp
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) -Pierpont Technical and Community College’s Annual Makers Camp kicked off today. The program will take place at Pierpont’s Advanced Technology Center, located in Fairmont, for a week long experience in immersive STREAM. STREAM, similar to STEM, includes the studies of science, technology, reading and writing, engineering, arts, and mathematics. Middle school and High school students look forward to having this opportunity every year, with expectations of diving into the exciting worlds of 3d printing, robotics, coding and more. Pierpont officials are also excited about what this year’s camp has to offer; and are looking forward to yet another successful year.
Pierpont Community & Technical College hosts its first Future Nurse Academy
This week, Pierpont Community & Technical College received a grant that it's used to start up its Future Nurse Academy, a three-day program geared toward rising juniors and seniors from local area high schools.
Three Projects At Fairmont State University To Receive Federal Funding
Fairmont State University (FSU) will receive $6,890,000 from several federal agencies for three improvement projects on campus. “Receiving federal funding for these projects will have a tremendous impact on campus,” said Christy Burner, director of Grants and Sponsored Programs at FSU. “These appropriations will go directly towards improving essential educational facilities, enhancing campus security, and providing our students with the learning environment they need to achieve excellence.”
