MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - A Tennessee store clerk has been accused of stealing a $1 million winning lottery ticket from its rightful owner and trying to cash in on the prize. The Rutherford County Sheriff's Office said Meer Patel, 23, of Murfreesboro has been arrested and charged with theft over $250,000.

A Buffalo Grove home became the site of a tragic incident this Monday when firefighters and police responded to a structure fire on the 600 block of Woodhollow Lane. The conflagration, reported near 10 a.m., quickly escalated from the garage to the main structure before it could be contained. According to a village of Buffalo Grove press release, one casualty, a 39-year-old man believed to be a resident, was discovered amidst the flames.

ROGERS PARK — A six-story apartment building could be coming to a vacant Rogers Park lot, but some neighbors say the plan is too dense and doesn’t have enough parking. Developer 5035 Land Owner, LLC is asking Ald. Maria Hadden (49th) for a zoning change to move forward with building 52 apartments at 7728 N. Sheridan Road. There wouldn’t be any retail space included in the project.
