A handful of road improvement projects are underway this week in Carroll and Chariton counties.

Monday morning, the Route JJ bridge over Slater Branch, east of Rothville, will close for the start of its rehabilitation as part of the Northwest Bridge Bundle. The Route D bridge over the West Fork of Bee Creek, southwest of Bynumville, is scheduled to close Thursday. Both bridges will remain closed until the end of October.

Meanwhile, the reopening of Route 5 under the Norfolk Southern railroad bridge is delayed again. The Missouri Department of Transportation now expects to have pavement improvement work at the underpass west of Salisbury completed by Friday.

Elsewhere in Chariton County, Route C east of Mendon, from Route 11 to Marquette Avenue, will close Tuesday and Wednesday for culvert replacements between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Four lettered routes in Carroll County will have crews present this week for pothole patching. Crews will make repairs to Routes CC, EE, OO, and PP this week.

The latest road and lane closures are posted on MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map .
