Champs Sports brought together more than 700 runners for its latest Tampa event
The Champs Sports Run Club powered by Nike hosted a huge run outside of Armature Works along the iconic Riverwalk in July. The event was a huge success with 741 in attendance and 1,400 registered. The event consisted of multiple local running communities coming out to show their passion for movement and community.

Residential Rents Post 11th Consecutive Monthly Decline
Rents for residential units fell again in June, with especially large declines in the South, where there’s been an influx of new rental units, Realtor.com said Thursday. The median asking rent for 0-2 bedroom units fell -0.4% ($7) from last June to $1,743, marking the 11th consecutive month of declines and -0.6% ($11) below its August 2022 peak.

University of Tampa Professor Receives $277K Grant From National Science Foundation for Memory Research
Sara Festini, associate professor of psychology at The University of Tampa, recently received a three-year, $277,536 grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF). Festini’s research assesses how people prioritize information within working memory, which is the temporarily maintained and manipulated information that one is currently thinking about in one’s mind. The implications of the research, titled “Executive Control of Working Memory: Prioritization Based on Value,” may impact future research on treatment for psychological disorders (e.g., PTSD) or classroom learning strategies.
Buccaneers free agent is already being labeled a potential bust before training camp
Training camp is set to start in just a few days, but it’s already been an offseason of hand wringing for experts around the league doubting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It’s not quite to the degree it was this time last year, but Bucs are still being slept on — or worse — despite all of the progress the team made last season.
