CARTHAGE, Mo. (KOAM) -- Crowder College and the Carthage Technical Center is teaming up to foster nursing education in the area.

According to Crowder College, the partnership is aiming to enhance nursing education opportunities in the Southwest Missouri region. It is designed to create a seamless transition for students from the Licensed Practical Nurse program at Carthage Technical Center to the Registered Nurse program at Crowder College.

"We are thrilled to partner with Crowder College to provide a seamless opportunity for our students to further their education and career opportunities," says Dr. Gage Tiller, Director of Carthage Technical Center.

Crowder says students who meet the specific academic criteria may be eligible for reserved sports in the RN program at Crowder College.

"Licensed Practical Nurse to Registered Nurse licensure are ideal pathways for students to enter healthcare. Students working toward an Associate Degree in Nursing are able to work as Licensed Practical Nurses serving healthcare facilities as they serve our communities while they are in school. This articulation plan will not only serve students but also our area healthcare employers," says Sandra Wilson, Director of Nursing for Crowder College.
