Pop-up storms, humidity returns over the weekend
MINNEAPOLIS — After a few days of respite, spotty, pop-up storms return for the weekend.The greatest chance for storms is across northern Minnesota on Saturday, but on Sunday the storms will likely impact southern Minnesota. The storms are expected to come in the afternoon and evening before dissipating at night. Chances for severe weather remain low.Before the storms Saturday, the humidity returns, with dew points back in the 60s. High temperatures will stay in the low 80s over the weekend.The pattern of afternoon pop-up storms will last through Tuesday.

The newest member of the Leech Lake Area Chamber of Commerce is Bay Beauty Co., located on Sixth Street in downtown Walker. Waleya, the business owner, says she stumbled into the beauty industry 12 years ago. She started out as a tattoo artist and discovered eyelash extensions while working on a client. That led to training and she soon became a trainer for JB Lashes in California. In 2012, she attended Esthetic School, and introduced eyelash extensions to northern Minnesota. Waleya’s business grew quickly while working in Bemidji the past 11 years, and she is now working in Walker exclusively where she is focusing on medical grade skincare line ZO. All the products are in stock at the store. “We’ve created a relaxing atmosphere where our clients can refresh and just feel good.” Kristen Hemmingsen, a nurse practitioner out of Sola in Fosston, will come to Walker twice a month offering Dysport and vitamin injections. Some Minnesota credit unions impacted by Microsoft outage
MINNEAPOLIS — Some banking systems around Minnesota felt the impact Friday of a global tech outage. Anyone who called Blaze Credit Union heard a recorded message saying they're experiencing issued related to the outage. A message on Blaze's website said they're experiencing connectivity issues at their contact center and that digital and phone banking are impacted. An Affinity Plus Credit Union spokesperson said their online mortgage application is down, but other than that, their issues are mainly internal. Considering all of the impacts across the globe, Affinity Plus CIO Radha Chavali says they're feeling fortunate."We are really fortunate that we have not had any big critical external impact to our members," said Chavali. "All of our critical services including online digital banking, our phone contact center, all of those are up and operational."As far as the larger banks, U.S. Bank says they have zero impacts because they don't use CrowdStrike.Huntington Bank has no known impacts, and a Wells Fargo spokesperson says they have no information to share at this point.

Both of the layer farms are in Weld County in the northeastern corner of the state, where several outbreaks have been reported in dairy cattle.
