On July 4, 2024, at approximately 10:27 PM, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office responded to a motor vehicle accident on Concord Road in the Town of Pomfret. The incident quickly escalated into a significant law enforcement event involving the Sheriff’s Office and the Jamestown Police Department K9 unit.

Man Charged with Burglary After Unwanted Person Complaint in Jamestown
A report of an unwanted person on Jamestown's west side led to the arrest of a man for burglary and other charges. Jamestown Police were called to an undisclosed address shortly before 4:15 AM Wednesday and were made aware that the unwanted subject was 39-year-old Michael Hetrick, who had a valid order of protection to stay away from the address and the female victim who lives there. The victim told police that Hetrick entered her home without permission and would not leave. Officers discovered that during the incident, Hetrick allegedly held the victim down and placed his hand over her nose and mouth, causing her to be unable to breathe. Hetrick had left the scene before officers arrived but was located in a wooded area near the residence. He allegedly resisted arrest, but was taken into custody after a brief struggle. Hetrick was arraigned on felony charges of 2nd-degree burglary and 1st-degree criminal contempt, as well as criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, unlawful imprisonment and resisting arrest. He is being held in the Chautauqua County Jail on $2,000 bail.

(WNY News Now) – Sheridan – A Minnetrista, Minnesota man is facing serious charges after a late-night motor vehicle accident on East Middle Road in the Town of Sheridan. On July 4, 2024, at approximately 10:50 PM, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported motor vehicle accident on Pennsylvania Avenue in the Town of Sheridan. Upon arrival, deputies found a vehicle in a ditch on East Middle Road. The operator, identified as 38-year-old Daniel Edward Gallivan of Minnetrista, Minnesota, was located a short distance away from the vehicle.
