US authorities announced Friday the return of another artwork stolen by Nazis to the family of Fritz Grunbaum, the Austiran-Jewish cabaret performer and collector who originally owned it. Ross Cancels Performance at Lucille Ball Comedy Festival
One of the three headlining performers at next week's Lucille Ball Comedy Festival in Jamestown will not be there. The National Comedy Center announced Friday afternoon on Twitter that "Roastmaster General" Jeffrey Ross had to cancel his performance that was scheduled for Friday, August 2nd. Flames Ravage Vacant House on Jamestown's South Side
Flames extensively damaged the front porch to the second-floor part of the front of a vacant house on Jamestown's south side early Saturday. City fire crews were called to 24 Broadhead Avenue at about 12:15 AM and found the porch fully engulfed in flames, with fire extending above the porch roof. No one was found inside the building at the time, and no interior fire was found. Crews were at the scene until shortly before 2:00 AM. No one was hurt, and the cause of the blaze is under investigation. No services were connected to the home, which is currently owned by the Chautauqua County Land Bank.

South Buffalo police stronger than ever, officials say as they eye new station
About five years ago, the South Buffalo Township Police Department comprised two officers and a lone civilian SUV that was converted for police use. On July 15, the township hired its fourth full-time police officer, at $23 an hour, who, unlike some of his predecessors, will patrol in a purpose-built police vehicle.
