Jayson Tatum & Ella Mai Debut 1st Child Together While Celebrating Olympic Gold Medal Win

J ayson Tatum has had a whirlwind of a week.

The Boston Celtic took home his first-ever gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics and celebrated by showing off his newborn baby with singer Ella Mai .

Tatum and his family celebrated and took photos on an American flag backdrop alongside his eldest son, Deuce Tatum. In the corner of the shot, Mai can be seen doting on the baby and eventually taking photos alongside Tatum’s parents.

The couple has remained pretty low-key and stayed out of the public light. They were first linked together back in 2020 when they were spotted at Michael Rubin’s annual July 4 all-white party.

Fans were only alerted that she was pregnant a few months ago when he helped lead the Celtics to their record 18th NBA championship after defeating the Dallas Mavericks . She was seen rocking a Tatum jersey over a baby bump while celebrating the win.

But it hasn’t all been positive news for Tatum because while he did win a gold medal with Team USA, he didn’t get much of a chance to play meaningful minutes. And it wasn’t just the armchair coaches who felt that way; Tatum’s mom, Brandy Cole, took to X with similar sentiments.

In a reply to ESPN’s Dick Vitale’s tweet reading, “Someone pls let me know is @jaytatum0 injured as he hasn’t received the PT ( playing time ) u would expect an All NBA player to get,” Cole said, “No, he not. But if you find out what’s going on please let me know – unacceptable and makes NO SENSE.”

After barely eking out a 95-91 semifinal win against Serbia, head coach Steve Kerr addressed the criticism, saying that it’s about chemistry, not a knock on Tatum’s talent.

“I went with the combinations that I felt like would make sense,” Kerr said after Team USA’s Olympic opener. “I talked to him and he’s incredibly professional. And that’s tonight. It doesn’t mean it’s going to stay that way the rest of the tournament. He’ll make his mark.”
