    Firefighters attack vegetation fire near I-25 in Castle Pines

    DENVER (KDVR) — Firefighters were battling a vegetation fire near Interstate 25 in Castle Pines Friday afternoon.

    The fire was burning on the west side of I-25 between Castle Pines Parkway and Happy Canyon Road.

    The fire burned about 2 acres of land, South Metro Fire Rescue estimated.

    South Metro said the fire was spreading southwest toward Legae Road, but said as of 2:38 p.m. that the fire stopped progressing, and crews had begun mop-up efforts to extinguish any leftover hot spots.

    No structures were threatened and no injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire is unknown.
