Health Department Closes Hotel Pool After Pool Users Experience Health Problems
TriCounty Health Department has issued a pool closure at a Vernal hotel after they responded to an event that resulted in several people being treated at area hospitals. The investigation is underway at the Comfort Inn pool. “TriCounty Health Department responded to the scene after learning of dispatch calls reporting that pool users were experiencing respiratory distress, nausea and vomiting,” shares the health department’s announcement. “TriCounty Health believes there is no ongoing risk to the public or to hotel staff or guests. Those who were affected were transported to area hospitals. Ashley Regional Medical Center reports that all who came in for treatment have been discharged.” The health department will provide more information as the investigation develops.

Rocky Mountain Power explains recent Tooele power outages
TOOELE, Utah (KUTV) — There have been a number of power outages in Tooele over the past week. Circuit breakers at the substations in the area have "enhanced fire safety settings," which means circuits will automatically cut power if a disturbance is detected on the line, Rocky Mountain spokesperson David Eskelsen said. VERNAL, Utah — The indoor swimming pool at Vernal Comfort Inn remained closed on Monday after a dozen swimmers got sick and went to a hospital on Saturday. New BYU Creamery on Ninth East Building
Brigham Young University announced plans to construct a new Creamery on Ninth building. The new building will be located on the west side of the parking lot of the current Creamery on Ninth. Construction will begin this month, and the new building will open to the public in mid-2025. To limit the impact on the campus community, the current Creamery on Ninth will remain open until just before the new store opens.

SALT LAKE CITY— We’re not even halfway through summer, and Salt Lake City has already clocked the number of 100-degree days seen typically in an entire year.
