CATASAUQUA, Pa. - Under the canopy of 248 years a crowd gathers to listen to a reading of America's founding document. The Declaration of Independence was read aloud at the historic George Taylor House in Catasauqua. "We are here to celebrate America's birthday," said Candace Maxwell, special events committee member.

At the start of the June 17 North Catasauqua Borough Council meeting, there was a robust discussion about fixing the flat roof at the former schoolhouse that now houses the borough municipal building.
