Trea Turner gave us another one of his classic smooth slides vs. Cubs
Trea Turner is the king of slides. You know this. MLB fans love when he slides into a base, and then pops up casually. The Philadelphia Phillies shortstop is just the smoothest. It happened again on July 4th, a perfect time to be smooth as heck. Turner was on his way home when a throw came in from center field. It was a close one, so he took the outside route, touched with his left hand, slid and popped up. Of course, he simply walked away as if it was nothing. Trea Turner. Smoothest guy there is. HARPER, JT RUNNING AT 75%, PHILS BEING CAUTIOUS WITH BOTH!
Phillies manager Rob Thomson said Bryce Harper (hamstring) and J.T. Realmuto (knee) are both running at 75% intensity. The Phillies will be home for six games next week and then have the All-Star break, so there’s no reason to rush either Harper or Realmuto, but Thomson said that the Phillies won’t hold either of them back if they’re ready to go before the break.

The Philadelphia Phillies' outfield has been rumored to receive an upgrade by the MLB trade deadline on July 30. A Phillies-White Sox trade that mortgages the farm for Luis Robert Jr. and an ace
The Philadelphia Phillies have three starters in the NL All-Star lineup. By no means should they feel forced to make a major move at the MLB trade deadline. Yet, as excited as Phillies fans are about this team, even they'd have to acknowledge there are some obvious holes. Center field is a clear one, even if Johan Rojas received an ungodly number of All-Star votes. Starting pitcher is another, as Taijuan Walker is out for the foreseeable future. As it turns out, the Phillies can take care of both problems in one trade.
