Vehicle drives into 13th Street BBQ in Cataula early Sunday morning
Harris County officials are investigating after a vehcile drove into a restaurant. The crash occurred at 13th Street Bar B Que on Hamilton Road. The front doors and wall of the business was damaged in the crash. It’s unclear if anyone was injured in the crash.

Inmate at Rutledge State Prison dies after being assaulted by cellmate, coroner says
COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - An inmate at the Rutledge State Prison was found dead in his cell after allegedly being assaulted by his cellmate. According to Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan, they were called to the prison and upon arrival, they found 58-year-old Leon Habson lying in a cell - he was pronounced dead at 12:39 p.m. on the scene.
GA man arrested after killing wife, unborn child
A Columbus man has been arrested and is awaiting extradition back to Georgia after killing his wife and unborn child. On Friday just before 2 p.m., Columbus Police officers responded to the 100 block of 20th Avenue (E. Canty Homes) in reference to a stabbing. She was taken to the hospital where doctors learned she was pregnant.

Large police presence on Front Avenue in Columbus; at least 3 shot, 1 dead
Columbus police are investigating a deadly shooting downtown. The shooting occurred on Front Avenue at a parking garage near 10th Street. Columbus police confirmed one person died and two others were injured. Muscogee County Deputy Coroner Ben Saxon, along with Violent Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Investigations Division are on the scene. Their conditions are unknown.
Reynolds Police Department Makes Drug Arrests Following Traffic Stop
On July 7, 2024, Sergeant Harrell of the Reynolds Police Department conducted a routine patrol in Reynolds when he observed a driver using a cell phone while operating a vehicle, alongside other vehicle violations. The driver, identified as Vernon Anderson (41 years old) from Columbus, GA, was found to have a suspended driver’s license during the traffic stop.
