Phenix City first responders work serious crash on Hwy. 280
Phenix City Police and Fire/EMS are on the scene of a serious motor vehicle collision. The collision occurred U.S. Highway 280 just past the Goodwill and restaurants near U.S. Highway 80/JR Allen Parkway. At least two vehicles were involved and had serious damage. It is unclear if anyone was injured.
21-Year Old Georgia Man Catches Record Breaking 27 Pound Fish
James W. Thompson, 21, from St. Simons Island, has set a new state record for almaco jack (Seriola rivoliana). On Sunday, July 28, Thompson caught a remarkable 27-pound, 8-ounce almaco jack offshore near Navy Tower R4. This catch surpasses the previous record of 23 pounds, 15.04 ounces, established by Jason H. Rich of McRae-Helena in May.
