Five cats that would love to move in with you

    User-posted content

All of these cats are currently looking for a place to call home and have heard it through the grapevine that you've got some pretty nice digs. If you fancy any of them, consider clicking on their links and getting in touch with their respective shelter. All of these cats are in the greater Kansas City area.

    Beans

I've got a chubby, gray cat, and he might be the sweetest, most charming cat I've ever had. Beans sounds and looks just like him. This 15-pounder from Cats Pawjamas was brought in when his family split up--he was 18 pounds when he arrived so they must put on jazzercise classes at Cats Pawjamas.

Beans is great with young kids and other cats. The folks at Cats Pawjamas aren't sure how he is around dogs, but they guess he'd be fine given his chill disposition. He's just a year and a half old but is already past his crazy kitten phase. He prefers hanging out and watching Netflix over running around chasing lasers and feathers. A good mix is always nice though. You can learn more about this big fella here.

    Juniper

Next up is Juniper, from The Animal Rescue Alliance (TARA), who came to the shelter after her human companion also became homeless. Hopefully both of them will find stable housing soon. Juniper has, understandably, strugged with the sudden shift, not certain what is going on. Still, that hasn't kept her from being affectionate with the folks at TARA. The only caveat with Juniper is that she would do best as an only cat, otherwise she'd likely be a great pick for most homes. You can learn more about her here. You will be "berry" glad you did.

    Bentley

Anybody looking for a tuxedo kitten? Bentley is here!Photo byMeowy Matchmakers

Next up is Bentley from Meowy Matchmakers. He's an adorable, big kitten, the biggest of his litter, and is full of that trademark kitten energy: climbing, chasing around toys, and tackling his siblings. He also has impeccable litter box etiquette, not only covering his own poo but also picking up the slack of his negligent roommates when they don't. You can learn more about Bentley here.

As an aside, Meowy Matchmakers is having a fundraising auction that ends this Sunday, June 16th. I don't imagine they'll want to ship things, but if you live in the Kansas City area and can pick up your items, they have a lot of great stuff including cat toys (that are currently going cheap) and priceless paintings by some of their more artistic cats (many of whom have been featured on these pages in the past). You can find their auction here. They'd appreciate your support, but again, please only bid if you live nearby and can pick up your stuff!

    Oscar

Oscar, from Great Plains SPCA is a shy guy at the shelter but blooms when he is in a home, in his own space. As a result, he's a diamond in the rough, not one you might even notice if you visited the shelter and were swarmed by all the more social cats. If you give this guy a chance though, you won't be disappointed. He would be best in a house that already has other cats--he loves the company of his own kind.

You can learn more about Oscar here.

    Mork

Last but not least is Mork, who is not from Ork, but from Parkville, the Friends of Parkville Animal Shelter to be exact. Mork is a beautiful Russian Blue with an adorable gray nose. Mork, like Oscar, is on the shy side, but once he warms up to you, he'll take all the head scratches you can give him. One day, with enough patience and love, he might even become a lap cat, but he hasn't gotten to that point with his new foster family quite yet.

You can learn more about Mork by filling out their pre-adoption application here. Doing so doesn't obligate you to adopt Mork, but you know you'll want to!

That's it for this week. Want to look at more cats? Check out my profile here. Many of the cats featured on past posts are still available!
