Could you and your family use an adorable companion that will bring you love and joy for years and years? These six cats are adoptable right now from local Kansas City shelters. Just click on the link provided with each to get in touch with their shelters.

    Miel and Priscilla

Miel and Priscilla, from Cats Pawjamas, are a couple of sisters that came all the way from Honduras. These five-month-olds were found at a cruise port where some kindly tourists helped them make it all the way back to Kansas City. Hopefully they won't miss the beach life too much.

They're good with other animals and kids, and they'd go bananas if they were adopted together. (Get it? Because they grow a lot of bananas in Honduras) Here's Priscilla, who isn't quite as feisty as Miel but still has lots of spunk:

    Leia

Next up, from The Animal Rescue Alliance, is Leia, a buff-colored senior kitty who is as friendly as can be. She loves to greet anyone who comes to pay her a visit. Don't like company? When your in-laws come over let Leia do the socializing while you hang out in the other room and read articles about cats. Don't like cleaning? Leia has a strange obsession with brooms, loves them, and with a little training, she may be able to harness that love and clean your entire house (not guaranteed).

Leia would be okay with small dogs but doesn't like big ones. Other than that, she's a cat that would do well in just about any home. The only reason she's available is because her previous family had allergies. Not you though, she'll make your eyes water with joy. You can learn more about this little princess here.

    Harry

Harry, from Meowy Matchmakers, lost his eye because of an untreated infection, but he's still living his best life. If it weren't for his unique look, you couldn't tell Harry from his kitten chums, every bit as full of playful spirit. Just another one of the boys. You can learn more about this little guy here.

    Jonas

Next up in this kitten-heavy week is Jonas, from Great Plains SPCA. Jonas is a playful, rambunctious kitten who is so cute you'll happily put up with his non-stop antics. Like all kittens, Jonas would be fine alone but would really thrive if he had some feline playmates by his side, some Jonas brothers, so to speak. If you don't have any other cats, Great Plains will happily hook you up. They have no lack of kittens. They also have a dog named Jonas, a boxer-mix, if you want to go all out on the Jonas brothers joke. You can learn more about Jonas, the cat, here. Here's Jonas the dog, also cute:

    Ryan Reynolds

Last but certainly not least is the big boy Ryan Reynolds, from the Friends of Parkville Animal Shelter (FOPAS). Personally, I've had my fill of Ryan Reynolds, the actor. I've got Ryan Reynolds-fatigue like I've got Kevin Hart and John Cena-fatigue--take a vacation guys. Luckily, you'll never be able to get too much of Ryan Reynolds, the cat.

This chubby guy was about to be euthanized because his owners couldn't afford to pay for his bladder stones to be removed. Rather than be "R.I.P.D.," FOPAS paid for his surgery and now they are offering this big bundle of joy to the world. He's a very social, friendly cat and will be a treasure to anyone who decides to bring him into their "Safe House." He isn't a "Free Guy" however--because of his bladder stones, he'll need to be on a special diet all his life. A small price to pay to welcome this star in your home!

If you're interested, you can fill out this pre-adoption application. There's no obligation in doing so.

That's all for this week. Want to look at more cats? Check out my profile here. Many of the cats featured on past posts are still available!
