    Arrest made in connection to Tuscaloosa apartments shooting

    TUSCALOOSA, Ala. ( WIAT ) — An arrest has been made following the death of a 23-year-old man on Aug. 9.

    Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit investigating deadly overnight shooting

    Darrien Boyd, 30, was arrested on warrants for murder and attempted murder. He was taken into custody Thursday and is in the Tuscaloosa County Jail with no bond.

    On Aug. 9, Tuscaloosa police were called to the Creekwood Apartments around 11:50 p.m. on on reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found Emilio Herndon, 23, dead and a second person shot, suffering non-life-threatening injuries. The shooting appeared to have stemmed from a minor altercation.
