    Carbon Hill football game postponed after weapon located in student’s car

    CARBON HILL, Ala. ( WIAT ) — Carbon Hill High School has postponed their football game against Oakman after weapons were located in a student’s car Friday.

    In a Facebook post made by the school, an investigation at the school led to the discovery of weapons in a student’s car. No students were threatened or in any danger. The game has been postponed to Sept. 27.

    Safety is and will always be our first priority. An investigation at Carbon Hill High School this morning led to the discovery of weapons located in a student’s car. School administration and law enforcement have handled this situation and at no time were students threatened or in any danger. Over the last few days our school communities of Carbon Hill and Oakman have experienced a lot of stress and tension. It is in the best interest of our students to postpone tonight’s football game to September 27th. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we make decisions for the safety and well-being of our students and staff.
