    5 in Tuscaloosa sentenced for possession of Glock switches, other gun crimes

    TUSCALOOSA, Ala. ( WIAT ) — Five Tuscaloosa individuals were sentenced for possession of “Glock switches” and other gun crimes in Tuscaloosa and the surrounding areas.

    U.S. Attorney Prim F. Escalona, Donterio Nickson, 23, was sentenced to 57 months in prison after pleading guilty to possession of a machine gun conversion device. Jahleo Pugh, 20, of Tuscaloosa, was sentenced to 20 months in prison. Kemontay Smith, 19, and Markeias Thompson, 19, were sentenced to 24 months in prison. Pugh, Smith and Thompson all pleaded guilty to possession of a machine gun in April.

    Keyonte Howard, 21, received 36 months’ probation following his conviction for providing false information in connection with the purchase of a firearm.

    The cases are part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program to reduce violent crime and gun crime to make neighborhoods safer.
