The 2024 Cook Out 400 will be held on Sunday at Richmond Raceway and teams have spent the last two weeks overhauling their equipment to prepare for the stretch run of the NASCAR Cup Series season. With only four races remaining in the regular season, there have been 12 different winners. As a result, Ross Chastain is on the bubble to make the top 16. He has a seven-point lead in the NASCAR standings over Bubba Wallace for the final playoff spot, but any first-time winner would push him out. Chastain and Wallace are both 35-1 according to the latest 2024 Cook Out 400 odds.
Meanwhile, Denny Hamlin and Christopher Bell are the 4-1 NASCAR at Richmond favorites, while Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Martin Truex Jr. is 11-2. Before making any 2024 NASCAR at Richmond predictions, entering any NASCAR DFS lineups on sites like DraftKings and FanDuel, or locking in NASCAR prop picks on sites like PrizePicks and Underdog Fantasy, be sure to see the latest 2024 Cook Out 400 picks from SportsLine's proven projection model .
Developed by daily Fantasy pro and SportsLine predictive data engineer Mike McClure, this proprietary NASCAR prediction model simulates every race 10,000 times, taking into account factors such as track history and recent results.
It called its first winner of the 2024 season with Kyle Larson in Las Vegas for a 21-5 payout and predicted Denny Hamlin's wins in Bristol at 5-1 and Richmond at 17-4. It also impressively nailed five of Larson's wins during his historic season in 2021. All told, the model has nailed a whopping 18 winners since 2021, including nine last year and three in the first seven races this season. Anyone who followed its lead on those NASCAR picks saw huge returns.
For the second 2024 NASCAR at Richmond race, the model is high on Tyler Reddick, even though he's an 18-1 longshot in the latest 2024 Cook Out 400 odds. He's a target for anyone looking for a huge payday. After breaking through with three wins for Richard Childress Racing in 2022, Reddick made the jump to 23XI Racing last season and has slowly helped build the No. 45 team into a contender.
Reddick won two more times in 2023 and finished sixth in the NASCAR standings and he's currently third in this year's points race entering the weekend. He added a sixth career victory at Talladega earlier this season and he's coming off a career-best 10th-place finish at Richmond in the spring. He also won the pole in the 2023 Cook Out 400 and led 81 laps before finishing 16th.
Another massive shocker: Christopher Bell, one of the Vegas co-favorites at 4-1, barely cracks the top five. There are far better values in the 2024 NASCAR Richmond starting lineup. Bell is coming off back-to-back seasons where he's made the season finale with a shot at the NASCAR Cup Series championship and he's piled up three wins already this season.
