With only four races left in the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series regular season schedule, the need for a victory has never been greater. With 12 drivers already winning a race, Martin Truex Jr., Ty Gibbs, Chris Buescher and Ross Chastain currently hold the final four playoff spots, so should you use any of these options from the NASCAR DFS driver pool for NASCAR DFS picks and NASCAR Fantasy lineups for the 2024 Cook Out 400 on Sunday at 6 p.m. ET from Richmond Raceway?
Bubba Wallace is in 17th, and just 17 points separate him from Buescher and Chastain for the final two playoff spots. Could there be value in these cheaper options for NASCAR DFS lineups and NASCAR Fantasy picks? A win secures a spot in the postseason, but another top-10 performance can generate enough points to keep them in contention over the final weeks. How should that factor into your NASCAR DFS strategy for the 2024 Cook Out 400? Before locking in your 2024 Cook Out 400 DFS lineups on sites like DraftKings and FanDuel, and making your Fantasy NASCAR projections, be sure to check out the optimal NASCAR at Richmond DFS strategy and advice from SportsLine's Mike McClure .
McClure has won over $2 million in his career as a daily Fantasy pro, and his NASCAR DFS driver pool, projections and advice can help you score a big win on Sunday. His model has impressively nailed a whopping 18 winners since 2021, including nine last year alone and three so far this season. Anyone who followed its lead on those NASCAR picks saw huge returns.
One of McClure's top NASCAR at Richmond DFS picks is Denny Hamlin ($10,700 on DraftKings and $13,500 on FanDuel). Hamlin started second and led 21 laps at the Brickyard 400 in NASCAR's last competition being involved in a crash in overtime and finishing 32nd as a DNF. The week before, he was second and the 43-year-old is fourth in the NASCAR Cup Series standings this year. He'll start on the pole in Richmond.
Hamlin has three victories this season, one of only four drivers with at least three. He won the Toyota Owners 400 in the spring race at Richmond Raceway on March 31 and finished second at last year's Cook Out 400. Hamlin has two victories and three runner-up finishes over his last seven competitions at Richmond Raceway and although he's the most expensive driver in the NASCAR DFS driver pool, McClure still sees value in including the 54-time NASCAR Cup Series winner in NASCAR DFS lineups for the Cook Out 400. Top 2024 Cook Out 400 Fantasy NASCAR rankings, projections
One sleeper McClure is targeting in his 2024 Cook Out 400 Fantasy lineups is William Byron. He is a 16-1 longshot to win NASCAR at Richmond, but the model projects him to make a run at the title. Byron was involved in a big, multi-car crash at the Brickyard 400 to place 38th as a DNF in the latest race before NASCAR's two-week break.
That snapped a stretch of back-to-back top-eight finishes for Byron, who is one of just four drivers with at least three wins this season. Byron, who has three wins, is sixth in the NASCAR Cup Series standings after finishing third last year behind six victories. The 26-year-old finished seventh in the spring race at Richmond Raceway and has led more than 115 laps in two of his last five NASCAR at Richmond events. Byron knows how to run at the front at Richmond Raceway and given his longshot status, McClure views him as a strong option for NASCAR Fantasy lineups.
