The Fighting Irish suffered a major blow to its offensive line earlier in fall camp. Notre Dame announced on Monday, Aug. 5, that tackle Charles Jagusah would miss the 2024 season after suffering an upper body injury in practice. Jagusah, a top-50 recruit from the Class of 2023, was the projected starter at left tackle for Notre Dame, which lost first-team All-American Joe Alt to the NFL Draft.

Tosh Baker has been taking snaps at left tackle with the first unit following Jagusah's injury. True freshman Anthonie Knapp has been working with the second team, but he could push Baker for that starting role if he's able to get up to speed with the offensive scheme and continues to impress the coaching staff ahead of the opener against Texas A&M. Linebacker Jack Kiser is a seasoned veteran on Notre Dame's defense. Last season, Kiser finished with 62 total tackles, including 41 solo, 1.5 sacks, one forced fumble and one interception. Among his 354 snaps in 2023, Kiser lined up 39 times at defensive end, 30 times over the slot receiver, 12 times at cornerback (goal line) and another 39 times at outside linebacker.
