With less than a week to go before the start of the 2024 NFL season, this is the busiest time of the year for 2024 Fantasy football drafts. Many Fantasy football leagues wait for the preseason to finish to lessen the chance of selecting someone who then gets injured before the season begins. But some of the biggest concerns of the past few weeks have been related to wide receiver contracts. Now with players like CeeDee Lamb and Brandon Aiyuk securing new deals to stay with their teams, you can confidently select them in 2024 Fantasy football drafts.

Wide receivers have taken over as one of the most dominant positions to secure elite talent from in Fantasy football drafts, so how high should the top receivers stack up in your 2024 Fantasy football rankings? Does the most successful 2024 Fantasy football strategy revolve around taking a wide receiver in the first round? If you're looking for 2024 Fantasy football advice, be sure to check out the 2024 Fantasy football cheat sheets from the proven computer model at SportsLine .

Last year, the model accurately predicted that Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle would fail to live up to his Fantasy football ADP. Waddle's 2023 Fantasy football ADP was 34.86 overall and he was the 11th receiver off the board on average. He'd go on to notch a 1,000-yard season but only had 72 receptions with four touchdowns and he'd finish as the No. 34 Fantasy football wide receiver in CBS Sports PPR leagues.

The same model has a proven track record providing Fantasy football tips, identifying A.J. Brown as a sleeper in 2020 and nailing Jonathan Taylor's monstrous season in 2021. Additionally, it's called past Fantasy football sleepers like Derrick Henry in 2019, Christian McCaffrey and Alvin Kamara in 2018, and Davante Adams in 2017. Anybody who banked on players like those made a run at their league title.

The model is powered by the same people who generated projections for all three major Fantasy sites, and it beat human experts last season when there was a big difference in ranking. The 2024 Fantasy football PPR rankings and 2024 Fantasy football standard projections update multiple times daily, so you're always getting the best Fantasy football advice and the latest Fantasy football tiers.

Top 2024 Fantasy football QB rankings

Here's a look at SportsLine's top three 2024 Fantasy football QB picks:

    1. Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills: Allen is without his top two targets from last season with the Bills trading Stefon Diggs to Houston and Gabe Davis signing with the Jaguars. But tight end Dalton Kincaid enters his second season and after having 73 receptions and he appears ready for a larger workload. Buffalo needed to have Diggs heavily involved in its offensive game plan each week, so in a way, being without Diggs could free up Allen's ability to strictly find the open receiver. His rushing upside (15 touchdowns) adds to the possibility he finishes as QB1 for the fourth time over the last five years.

    2. Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles: Hurts has increased his passing yardage and passing touchdowns in each of his three seasons as the Eagles starting quarterback and given the Philadelphia playmakers this season, there's no reason to suspect that trend will change. The Eagles added Saquon Barkley, who can catch passes out of the backfield, to pair with A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith at receiver. Hurts has also increased his rushing touchdowns in each of those three seasons as he has both a high floor and high ceiling for 2024 Fantasy football lineups.

    3. Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens: Jackson's Fantasy football appeal increases due to his ability as a runner, but he's not strictly a rushing quarterback. Jackson threw for a career-high 3,678 yards last season with his second-highest passing yards per game average (229.9). He'll have tight end Mark Andrews back for an entire season and in the second year under offensive coordinator Todd Monken, the model projects big things from Jackson. See more top QBs here .

Top 2024 Fantasy football RB rankings

Here's a look at SportsLine's top three 2024 Fantasy football RB picks:

    1. Christian McCaffrey, San Francisco 49ers: In his first full year in San Fran, McCaffrey led the NFL in rushing yards, scrimmage yards and total touchdowns. He also set career-highs in yards per carry and in receiving touchdowns. His multiple avenues to rack up Fantasy points make him the clear-cut top Fantasy football running back.

    2. Saquon Barkley, Philadelphia Eagles: Barkley was essentially the Giants offense last season as he racked up 1,242 scrimmage yards and 10 touchdowns. He got little help from New York's O-line as his 1.9 yards before contact per carry ranked 36th in the NFL. The RB Barkley is replacing in Philly, D'Andre Swift, ranked eighth in YBC/carry at 2.8, so Barkley is getting a sizable upgrade in terms of offensive lines.

    3. Breece Hall, New York Jets: For his career, Hall has averaged 94.4 scrimmage yards per game despite playing with arguably the NFL's worst group of quarterbacks. That should change with an upright Aaron Rodgers, and Hall won't have to cede touches to an aging Dalvin Cook like he had to through the first half of last season. See more top RBs here .

Top 2024 Fantasy football WR rankings

Here's a look at SportsLine's top three 2024 Fantasy football WR picks:

    1. CeeDee Lamb, Dallas Cowboys: Lamb has increased his receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns in every season of his four-year NFL career. After topping the league with 135 catches last year, racking up 1,749 yards and scoring 12 touchdowns, even if he doesn't increase his numbers again, a slight regression could still have him finishing as the top Fantasy wideout.

    2. Tyreek Hill, Miami Dolphins: The only player in NFL history with multiple seasons of 1,700 receiving yards, Hill has also become a PPR machine in Miami. He has 238 catches in two seasons with the Dolphins, which is just 18 fewer than he had over his last three years in Kansas City combined.

    3. Amon-Ra St. Brown, Detroit Lions: The nine games that St. Brown had 100-plus receiving yards last season were the most in the NFL. Also, his 119 catches were the second-most in the league, and his 10 touchdowns were a career-high. So, St. Brown checks all of the statistical boxes that you want to see out of a Fantasy receiver. Top 2024 Fantasy football TE rankings

Here's a look at SportsLine's top three 2024 Fantasy football TE picks:

    1. Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs: The media seemed pretty concerned that his relationship with Taylor Swift would be a distraction but it was an early-season ankle injury that served as a bigger sap on his production. However, he still caught 93 passes for 984 yards and five touchdowns in 15 games and then we saw vintage Kelce during the 2024 NFL Playoffs. He's 34 now but he's still the top option at tight end.

    2. Sam LaPorta, Detroit Lions: A second-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, LaPorta took the league by storm with 86 catches for 889 yards and 10 touchdowns as a rookie. His 16 red-zone targets ranked fourth among NFL tight ends and even if you're expecting some touchdown regression, LaPorta has clearly established himself near the top of the heap at a thin position.

    3. Mark Andrews, Baltimore Ravens: Andrews missed seven games in 2023 with a cracked fibula. However, when he was on the field, he still ranked fourth among NFL tight ends in target share (22.2%) and that number cranked up to 37.8% in the red zone. He's healthy entering this season and he should be a touchdown machine in a good Baltimore offense. See more top TEs here .
