Baylor and Utah will meet at Rice-Eccles Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Bears should be a nice early conference test for the No. 11 ranked Utes, who are playing in their first-ever Big 12 conference game.

Baylor got to ease into the 2024 season, notching a 45-3 win over Tarleton State last weekend. The Bears controlled the game on both sides of the ball and were able to empty the bench ahead of a much tougher matchup against Utah on Saturday.

Bears quarterback Dequan Finn had a solid showing, completing 14 of his 22 attempts for 192 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Finn did throw two interceptions, but those didn't cost him against the Texans. The Utes are much more likely to make Finn pay if he makes those same mistakes.

On the other side, Utah also got to tune up for conference play with a game against Southern Utah. The Utes dispatched the Thunderbirds 49-0 without breaking a sweat. Quarterback Cameron Rising came out of the gate hot, completing 10 of his 15 attempts for 254 yards and five touchdowns.

Three of those passes went to Dijon Stanley, who ended his night with 150 yards and a pair of touchdowns. It doesn't get much more efficient than Stanley's 50 yards per catch.

Utah's defense looked as stingy as ever, surrendering only 150 yards of offense to Southern Utah. Baylor will provide more resistance, but that was still an encouraging start to the season.
