Ohio State is set for another nonconference home game this weekend when it welcomes Western Michigan into The Horseshoe. The Buckeyes are looking to get back to the College Football Playoff this year after missing out a season ago.

OSU shook off a sleepy start and to breeze past Akron 52-6 in the season opener last week. A big part of the win came down to the chemistry between new quarterback Will Howard and his top target Jeremiah Smith, the latter of whom looked unstoppable. The star freshman tallied 95 yards receiving and a touchdown.

Ohio State's other two start receivers, Emeka Egbuka and Carnell Tate, combined for 109 yards and a score on eight catches. The Buckeyes defense held the Zips to just 177 total yards of offense and forced three turnovers.

Western Michigan is in the midst of a brutal start to its season. In Week 1, the Broncos went up to Madison and took a 28-14 bruising from Wisconsin. The bright spot for Western Michigan was Jalen Buckley, who rushed for 64 yards and a pair of touchdowns, but things won't get any easier on Saturday.
