Chick-fil-A heading to west side of Tyler soon
TYLER, Texas — Another Chick-fil-A is coming to the city of Tyler, and this time residents and commuters on the west side of town will be able to "eat more chicken." According to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, the Chick-fil-A West Tyler project will begin on Oct. 14 and be completed by April 14, 2025. The estimated cost is $1.2 million to construct the 5,615 square foot building.
Mabank woman found on Abigail Street reunited with family
MABANK, Texas — A woman found wandering the street in Mabank has been reunited with her family. Chief Keith Bradshaw with the Mabank Police Department confirmed that a woman found on Abigail Street near Mabank Meadows has been identified by her family. Officials said she was confused about where she lived when she was located during a welfare concern.
New pavilion to be constructed at the Tyler Rose Garden
TYLER, Texas — The Tyler City Council accepted a donation on Wednesday for a new pavilion at the Rose Garden. The new pavilion will be placed in the Heritage Garden, according to a press release from the city of Tyler. The pavilion was made possible through a donation from the Gertrude Windsor Garden Club with a value of $81,589.
NWS: Tropical Storm Beryl caused 9 tornadoes across East Texas
SABINE COUNTY, Texas — Teams from the National Weather Service confirmed nine tornadoes touched down across East Texas as Tropical Storm Beryl was moving through area Monday. The tornadoes, which ranged in ratings from EF0 to EF2, were reported in Sabine, Nacogdoches, Rusk, Shelby, Panola, Harrison and Jasper counties.

SNAP and WIC recipients affected by Hurricane Beryl eligible for replacement benefits
TEXAS, USA — SNAP and WIC recipients in counties affected by Hurricane Beryl will be eligible to apply for replacement benefits. According to a press release from Texas Health and Human Services, beginning July 11 recipients in the SNAP program can apply for replacement benefits that will be placed on their Lone Star Cards within two business days once those benefits are approved. The WIC program will also be replacing food and formula benefits lost during Hurricane Beryl through July 31.

Witness recalls crash that killed woman waiting at Tyler bus stop
TYLER, Texas — On Tuesday, Sandra Abrego, 43, passed away at a local hospital from her injuries after she was struck by a truck at a Tyler bus stop. "It was really sad.
