ST. LOUIS – The National Weather Service has confirmed two tornadoes from Tuesday’s severe weather in the St. Louis region.

Both of the tornadoes were rated as EF0 but left behind damage. According to FOX 2 Extreme Weather Specialist Chris Higgins, the NWS St. Louis did not complete surveys and rather took reports from our meteorology team as well as emergency managers.

Tornadoes were reported in two towns:

    • Treloar, Missouri (Warren County)
    • Cedar Hill, Missouri (Jefferson County)

    Cedar Hill

Tree damage left behind in Cedar Hill on Tuesday

Cedar Hill is located in northwest Jefferson County. The tornado touched ground at 12:01 p.m. Tuesday. According to the National Weather Service, there was concentrated tree damage from the west of Byrnesville, traveling into Cedar Hill.

Higgins visited Cedar Hill off of Highway 30 Tuesday after the storm, where tree damage could be seen.

    Treloar

Treloar is located just across the Missouri River from New Haven in Warren County. The tornado touched down at 11:34 a.m. The National Weather Service St. Louis stated that a brief tornado signature was “evident” with additional damage to vegetation, as reported by an emergency manager.

The storms Tuesday also brought a range of rainfall totals from 6.8 inches in Shiloh, Illinois, to 1.86 inches at St. Louis Lambert International Airport, bringing major flooding to communities across the viewing area.
