MFPD Responds to Peotone Structural Fire – No Injuries
At approximately 4:22 p.m. on July 10, the Manhattan Fire Protection District (MFPD) was dispatched to a reported structural fire in the 200 block of West Street in Peotone. The first units arrived on scene within three minutes of the initial call for service. Fire crews reported moderate smoke and flames showing from a two-story residential structure. A full still was activated for additional personnel and equipment.

CINCINNATI — An active but somewhat tricky forecast remains for the next few days. We are expecting heat to hold tight in tandem with rounds of storms. Another complex of showers and storms will be possible overnight Monday and into early Tuesday. More heavy rain and lightning would be the primary concerns early. Steamy sunshine will then make for uncomfortably hot conditions by afternoon with heat index values reaching around 100 again.
