Earthquake Shakes Illinois: Shocking Footage Inside (Video)
A 3.4 magnitude earthquake struck Northern Illinois early this morning. The earthquake occurred a little before 3 a.m. in Southern DeKalb County, near the town of Somonauk. The earthquake was felt in various locations including Winthrop Harbor, Cary, and Yorkville. Heather and Cory were awakened by the quake, initially mistaking it for a storm. Marcia in Winthrop Harbor reported feeling her house shake. A resident in Cary noticed the loud and rumbly noise, distinguishing it from thunder. Dan in Yorkville also felt the earthquake.

AUSTIN — The city has secured another $5 million to help West Side neighbors still recovering from flood damage caused by last summer’s storms. CHICAGO (CBS) — A woman was killed after a tree fell on a home during severe storms near Cedar Lake, Indiana, Monday night. The National Weather Service reported at least ten tornadoes on the ground Monday night as dangerous storms hit the Chicago area and Northwest Indiana for a second night.
