SunFrog Solutions worker killed in stabbing, 1 other injured, Gaylord police say
GAYLORD — On Aug. 17 around 3 p.m., officers from the Gaylord Police Department responded to SunFrog Solutions on O’Rourke Boulevard for an altercation that involved a stabbing, police said. Upon arrival, officers found two men with severe lacerations and puncture wounds from edged weapons, they said. The officers secured the scene and provided medical aid. Otsego County EMS arrived on scene and took both men to Munson Otsego Memorial Hospital for treatment, police said. One of the men, a 33-year-old, died from his injuries at Munson OMH, and the other, a 35-year-old, received emergency surgery for serious injuries, police said.

State awards $20.5M in grants to Michigan schools for mental health and safety
The Michigan Department of Education has awarded $20.5 million in grant for mental health services to 76 school districts and charter schools across the state. The funds, part of the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act signed into law by President Joe Biden, will be used by educators to expand mental health services and “design and enhance initiatives that will promote safer, more inclusive, and positive school environments for all students, educators, and school staff.”
