Two new roundabouts coming to Mountain Brook Village
JEFFERSON CO., Ala. (WBRC) - Two new roundabouts are coming to Mountain Brook Village to help with traffic congestion. The project is happening right in the middle of Birmingham and Mountain Brook city limits at the intersection of U.S. Highway 280′s off ramp, Cahaba Road, Chester Road, and Lane Park Road near the Birmingham Zoo.
Hoover zoning board recommends approval for alcohol sales at new indoor golf facility
Neil Thompson, a golf instructor at the Pine Tree Country Club and Timberline Golf Club, in March opened Magic City Indoor Golf on Alford Avenue. On Monday night, the Hoover Planning and Zoning Commission recommended he be allowed to sell beer and wine for consumption at the facility, which is designed both for indoor golf instruction and recreational indoor golf play.

The total proposal for the bond issue is $60 million, consisting of one $10 million bond and one $50 million bond issue, if approved.
Vestavia Hills City Council considers grant application for Altadena Valley Park trails
The Vestavia Hills City Council on Monday night will consider whether to apply for a $136,000 federal grant to help develop trails at Altadena Valley Park. The plan includes a new trail on the northern end of the park, trail connections around the lake in the park and a new trail segment on the westernmost side of the park. The trail would be a 6-foot-wide asphalt trail for non-motorized use.
Street changes in Mtn. Brook could add to your commute time
MOUNTAIN BROOK, Ala. — If you commute through Mountain Brook, your drive may be a little longer. Some residents are upset after the city council voted to make three residential streets closed to thru traffic. There are only 17 homes on Halbrook Lane, unless you’re coming from or going to one of them you’ll need to go around using one of the main roads like Crosshaven Drive, Overton Road or Green Valley Road.
