    UPCOMING EVENTS FEB 28 Wednesday

    • Wellness Wednesday The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Lunch and Learns have a new name, Wellness Wednesdays. This month’s will feature tudents from Center High School’s Culinary Department making healthy snack options, and The Forge owner, Danbert Collum talking about the importance of fitness and healthy meal prepping.     • Family Traditions Ribbon Cutting Family Traditions Southern Eatery & Catering Relocation Ribbon Cutting at 2:00 p.m. New location is 411 Hurst Street in Center.     MARCH 8 Friday Wright Motors Open House Wright Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram will celebrate 20 years in business with an open house from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the dealership located at 1858 Tenaha Street. The Shelby County Cookers will be cooking hamburgers.

    MARCH 12 Tuesday

    • Mathews Realty Open House Hours will be held 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Mathews Realty located at 616 Tenaha Street. Join the staff at Mathews Realty for refreshments and fellowship. They look forward to seeing you.

    • Center PD blood drive The Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center will be at the Center Police Department from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The demand for blood in hospitals is very high. Show you care, give to this cause. One donation can help save three lives.     • Shelby County Grill Fest Shelby County’s Lone Star Barbecue Society sanctioned barbecue cook-off at the Shelby County Expo Center/ Rodeo Arena. $6,500 in prize money. Registration deadline March 1 for $150 entry fee. After that date, $200 until the day of the event.

    MARCH 16 Saturday

    • Spring Craft Party Center PD Ladies Auxiliary fundraising Spring Craft Party at 6:00 p.m. Spring themed wood door hanger. $30 per person, all materials will be provided. Seating is limited.     • Shelby County Commissioners Court meets Wednesdays at 9:30 a.m. at the Shelby County Courthouse.

    • Youth Wednesday night services at Mount Calvary Full Gospel Church located at 5527 FM 417 East, Shelbyville at 6:30. Fun inside and outside games, and Bible study.

    • Scrap Happy Quilters at 9 a.m. at the James Community House at 348 FM 2608, about 1/4 mile on right. Bring sewing machine, supplies, and $2 donation to help James Community House with expenses.

    • Center City Council meets at 5 p.m. in the council chambers at city hall.

    Monthly – Second and Fourth Thursday

    • Center ISD School Board meets at noon at the ISD administration building on Hwy 96 north.

    • Wellness Wednesdays on the fourth Wednesday o at noon at the Shelby County AgriLife Extension Office.
