New Farmer’s Market termed ‘a great success’

New market to become mainstay in Center in 2024

The new Center Farmer’s Market opening day Saturday was “a great success,” according to event organizer Stacy Riley. “I was happy to see the community turnout to support it. The vendors were happy: several of them reported selling out.”

Saturday’s inaugural event drew about 25 vendors offering food, crafts, and produce items. Local entertainers Danny Paul and Sally Windham provided live music.

Riley said she already more vendors signed up to attend this week.

Plans are for every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. except Oct. 5 and Labor Day weekend. She said the December 14 market will be the last on for the year.

The Center Farmers Market is located at 201 San Augustine Street in downtown Center in back of the Center Chiropractic building.
