The ballgame would go to sudden death and the Coal Cats would successfully stop the Otterbots from scoring to earn the win and sweep the Danville Otterbots. For the first time this season, the Otterbots have been swept at home.
Scott returns to winning ways at Paragon
MORGAN COUNTY – Jake Scott well knows his way to the front of the Paragon Speedway 410 sprint class. After being involved in a crash in the last racing card at Paragon, the veteran from Morgantown came back to win the June 14 feature. He finished ahead of Bloomington’s Cody Trammell, with Logan Calderwood of Goodyear, Ariz., third and Andrew Prather of Martinsville fourth. Scott also won the fourth of four heat races after Prather took the third heat.
Pioneers’ Bennett helps South gridders win
DECATUR — Hunter Bennett and Javian Jones and stood arm in arm, smiling for pictures. They had good reasons to be together in that pleasant mood. Bennett, a defensive end from Mooresville, and Jones, a defensive tackle from Decatur Central, helped the South dominate the North 41-14 in last Friday’s Murat Shrine North-South Football Classic at DC’s Devere Fair Stadium.
