Del Norte Little League All Stars, 10-12 Baseball
The Del Norte Little League 10-12 All Stars competed in the District Eight Tournament that started Friday, June 14 in Medford. Del Norte opened up the tourney vs. the Medford Nationals with a 28-1 win. Del Norte pitchers Colt Presler, Chase Bachmann. Damien Parras and Trevon Barber all pitched for Del Norte, giving up only two hits. In Game 2, on Saturday, DN played Brookings and again came out on top, 28-2. Game 3 Del Norte played Gold Valley and was victorious 11-1, Ernesto Gamez, Damien Parras and Colt Presler tosses a combined no-hitter. DN played in the Championship game, winning 16-6. The State Chamionship will be played July 20. Manager Tyler Backmann expressed his pride with the youngsters. “ They came out swinging. We had 73 hits over shortened games.”
Official weigh-ins for local fighters ahead of combat sport event
MEDFORD, Ore. – On Friday, the Arena Wars combat sports promotion held their official weigh ins for Saturday’s fight night. Fighters made their way to the Trophy Club Bar and Grill in Medford, to step on the scales. The weigh ins are important because it determines if a fighter is eligible to fight. They have to weigh in at their weight division limit and cut several pounds to do so.
Dates Set For Fred Brownfield’s Northern Speedweek
ALGER, Wash. — Fifty-Five Promotions has announced the revival of Fred Brownfield’s Northern Speedweek Tour. In a respectful tribute to the late Fred Brownfield, whose contributions significantly shaped dirt-track racing in the region, the group sought and received approval from Debbie Brownfield to honor his legacy and naming the tour after him.

With their first road trip of the 2024 season, the Healdsburg Prune Packers found out what it was like to lose. Twice. Carrying an 18-0 record into their June 27 game at Harry David Field in Medford, Oregon, the Pack’s luck finally ran out. The home-team Rogues, who had been defeated by the Packers the previous five games, including two on their own home field, had at last had enough.
