    Sirens: Man breaks into home, barricades himself in garage; woman lights clothes on fire; man arrested after trying to cash stolen check

    CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

    Harassment

    • A harassment complaint reported in the 1400 block of Lewis Street at 7:15 a.m. on July 3 is under investigation.

    Criminal trespass

    • Homeless people were reportedly camping on private property in the 1000 block of Eckerson Road just after 1:45 p.m. on July 3.

    • A homeless Rochester man was trespassed from a business in the 100 block of North Tower Avenue for disorderly conduct just after 8:50 p.m. on July 3.

    • A homeless camp was reported on private property in the 1000 block of Eckerson Road at approximately 6:15 a.m. on July 4. A man and a woman at the camp, both Centralia residents, were trespassed from the property at the property owner’s request, advised of the city’s camping municipal code and were given information on local resources.

    • A homeless Centralia resident was trespassed from private property for being disorderly in the 1100 block of Mellen Street at approximately 5:35 p.m. on July 4.

    • A Morton resident was asked to leave private property in the 200 block of West Reynolds Avenue at the owner’s request just after 10:35 p.m. on July 4.

    • Two homeless people were asked to leave private property in the 600 block of North Tower Avenue at 12:20 a.m. on July 5 at the owner’s request.

    Possession of stolen property

    • A 34-year-old Shelton man was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for first-degree criminal impersonation, second-degree possession of stolen property and forgery after he allegedly attempted to cash a stolen check at a bank in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue using a fake ID just after 3:35 p.m. on July 3.

    • A 40-year-old Olympia woman was arrested for second-degree possession of stolen property after she was found with several washed bank checks, stolen checks, stolen credit cards and false identities in the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue at 8 p.m. on July 3. A 33-year-old Yelm man was also arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

    Hit-and-run

    • A 49-year-old Elma man was arrested for a hit-and-run reported at the intersection of North Pearl Street and East Reynolds Avenue just before 4:55 p.m. on July 3. He was also cited for driving with a suspended driver’s license.

    Assault

    • An “assault with serious injury” reported in the 200 block of West Main Street at approximately 8:50 p.m. on July 3 is under investigation.

    • An assault reported in the 400 block of West Summa Street at approximately 12:50 a.m. on July 5 is under investigation.

    Drug violation

    • A 31-year-old Centralia woman was arrested for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant in the 100 block of Benjamin Street just after 10:45 p.m. on July 4. Jail staff found a baggie of suspected fentanyl pills in her possession. Additional felony charges have been referred to the Lewis County Prosecutor’s Office.

    Malicious mischief

    • Damage to a vehicle in the 600 block of West Pine Street was reported at approximately 11:45 a.m. on July 4.

    CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

    Criminal trespass

    • A “verbally abusive” subject was trespassed from a business in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue at approximately 8:55 a.m. on July 3.

    • Just before 10:10 a.m. on July 3, a possible trespass that occurred in the 300 block of South Market Boulevard at about 10:30 p.m. the previous night was reported.

    • A subject who was harassing employees of a business in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 6:55 p.m. on July 4 was trespassed from the business.

    Disorderly conduct

    • A woman reportedly lit her clothes on fire at the intersection of Southwest Pacific Avenue and Southwest John Street just after 11:40 a.m. on July 3. The fire was put out and no injuries were reported.

    Suspicious circumstances

    • A 14-year-old girl reported a possible sexual assault in the 200 block of Southwest 13th Street at 1:40 p.m. on July 3.

    • A man in a white sedan was reportedly trying to sell gold in a parking lot in the 1300 block of Northwest State Avenue just after 3:20 p.m. on July 3.

    • Possible sexual misconduct involving a man putting his hand between someone’s legs in the 10 block of Southwest Seventh Street was reported at approximately 7 p.m. on July 4.

    • A suspicious vehicle reported at the intersection of Southwest Ninth Street and Southwest McFadden Avenue just after 9:35 p.m. on July 4 is under investigation.

    Burglary

    • A man was arrested for breaking into a home in the 600 block of Southwest 20th Street and barricading himself in the garage at approximately 7:55 p.m. on July 3. The reporting party advised she was “worried the male will kill them all.” He was booked into the Lewis County Jail for second-degree burglary.

    Harassment

    • Two subjects were reportedly harassing a woman in the 500 block of West Main Street just after 9:50 p.m. on July 3. She advised the subjects were threatening to kill her cat, and she said she “is going to die and there will be a betting pool.” She reported she had a knife in her pocket and said she “is tired of being harassed.”

    Dispute

    • A physical dispute was reported in the 300 block of Southwest Third Street just after 10:35 p.m. on July 4.

    FIRE AND EMS CALLS

    • Between Tuesday morning and Friday morning, Lewis County 911 Communications logged approximately 57 illness-related calls, 27 injury-related calls, 38 fire-related calls, 10 vehicle accidents, seven non-emergency service calls, two Lifeline medical alerts, two ambulance requests, one overdose, one rescue, one sucide-related call and five other calls.

    JAIL STATISTICS

    • As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 127 inmates, including 114 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 90 were reported male and 24 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.

    • As of Wednesday morning, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total system population of 11 inmates, including six booked by the Centralia Police Department, two booked by the state Department of Corrections, one booked by the Lummi Nation, one booked by the City of Elma and one booked by the Skokomish Tribe.
