    Sirens: Juveniles steal cart full of alcohol; counterfeit currency passed; suspect climbs fence, sleeps in garage

    CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

    Criminal trespass

    • Two subjects were trespassed from a property in the 1200 block of Alder Street just after 1:10 p.m. on July 15.

    • A homeless man who spread items over the sidewalk and driveway of a business in the 500 block of North Pearl Street was asked to clean up his trash and leave just after 6:45 a.m. on July 16.

    Vehicle accident

    • A non-injury, two-vehicle collision that occurred when one driver failed to yield right-of-way was reported in the 2000 block of Borst Avenue at approximately 3:30 p.m. on July 14.

    Assault

    • A 45-year-old Centralia man was arrested in the 200 block of North King Street just after 7:10 a.m. on July 16 and was booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence and interfering with reporting to 911 after he allegedly injured a woman’s hand during a dispute and took her phone.

    • A suspect described as “a dark-skinned female” reportedly threw products at a store clerk who told her to leave a store in the 400 block of East Summa Street at approximately 8:50 p.m. on July 15.

    Burglary

    • A burglary of a garage in the 100 block of Benjamin Street reported just after 10:50 a.m. on July 16 is under investigation.

    Drug violation

    • A 57-year-old Rochester woman accused of smoking meth in her car at a gas station in the 1000 block of Belmont Avenue at approximately 10:55 a.m. on July 16 was arrested for possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia.

    Theft

    • An orange and black Kawasaki motorcycle was reported stolen from the intersection of Benjamin and Alexander streets at 1:15 p.m. on July 16.

    • Two juveniles reportedly walked out of a store in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue with a cart full of alcohol just before 12:05 a.m. on July 17.

    Counterfeiting

    • Officers are investigating an incident where a male passed a counterfeit bill at a grocery store in the 600 block of North Tower Avenue at 8:55 p.m. on July 16.

    CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

    Vehicle accident

    • Possible minor injuries were reported following a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Northwest Louisiana Avenue and state Route 6 at 11:45 a.m. on July 15.

    Hit-and-run

    • A suspect was arrested for a hit-and-run in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue just after 1:40 p.m. on July 15.

    Theft

    • Shoplifting was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 3:15 p.m. on July 15.

    • Just after 2:15 p.m. on July 16, a caller reported a license plate had been stolen from the 200 block of Southwest 16th Street sometime within the last week. The owner found the plate about 40 minutes later.

    Criminal trespass

    • Just before 9:35 a.m. on July 16, a homeowner in the 300 block of Southwest James Street reported a subject has repeatedly climbed his fence and slept in his garage. He asked officers to locate the suspect and trespass him from the property.

    Assault

    • A second-degree assault reported in the 500 block of Northwest Pacific Avenue just after 3 p.m. on July 16 is under investigation.

    Fraud

    • A case of “non-specific fraud” reported in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 3:10 p.m. on July 16 is under investigation.

    Death

    • A death reported in the 1400 block of Southwest Johnson Avenue just after 4:25 p.m. on July 16 is under investigation.

    FIRE AND EMS CALLS

    • Between Monday morning and Wednesday morning, Lewis County 911 Communications logged approximately 35 illness-related calls, 17 injury-related calls, 10 fire-related calls, 11 non-emergency service calls, four vehicle accidents, two Lifeline medical alerts, one pregnancy-related call, one missing person report, one medical helicopter request and seven other calls.

    JAIL STATISTICS

    • As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 136 inmates, including 123 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 95 were reported male and 28 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.

    • As of Wednesday morning, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total system population of 13 inmates, including six booked by the Centralia Police Department, six booked by the state Department of Corrections and one booked by the Lummi Nation.
