Bellefonte, Pa. — A Sheetz store in Centre County will close this weekend for several months for a complete rebuild.

The Bellefonte Sheetz store at 2850 Benner Pike will close its doors on July 7 in preparation for the project. Nick Ruffner, spokesperson for Sheetz, said the employees will be offered positions at other nearby locations.

"When it reopens in December, the new building will be 6,139 sq. ft. with a drive-through and a new car wash. The store will have inside and outside seating, along with the ability to fuel 12 vehicles at one time," Ruffner said in an email statement.

The Bellefonte Sheetz opened in 2011. Centre County has several other Sheetz stores, including one at North Atherton Street in Patton Township, West College Avenue in State College, Colonnade Boulevard in State College, Southridge Plaza in State College, one on Shiloh Road near Bellefonte, and one at Valley Vista Drive in State College.

Closing an older store to demolish and rebuild is not uncommon for the Sheetz chain. In north central Pa., Sheetz has done a complete rebuild of the Selinsgrove store in 2023, Lewisburg store in 2022, and the Maynard Street store in Williamsport in 2018.
