Astro Bot has not even launched yet, yet fans are getting more as it has been revealed the title will be getting extra-level DLC with more challenges.

Team Asobi ‘s Astro Bot will be available for fans to dive into in just hours, but the already acclaimed title (sitting at a tidy 94% on Metacritic to a 100 review sample size) has plans in store for what happens after the credits roll. Team Asobi has confirmed that the new PlayStation 5 platformer will release a new DLC after the launch, featuring extra challenge levels and speed-run modes.

The report comes out from VGC , who have been told of the new Astro Bot DLC during a visit with the developers. The new platforming title will feature 10 challenge levels and five speed-run levels after launch, and seeing as how Team Asobi has already strengthened their previous Astro’s Playroom title with post-launch content, DLC appears to be a shoo-in for Astro Bot . CGMagazine’s perfect score review of Astro Bot says it is “creative, inventive, insanely fun, and a true love letter to the legacy of the PlayStation.”

Astro’s Playroom ‘s new content included a hidden ‘Lady Maria’ special bot as a hidden collectible to find in the sandbox area, and seeing as how Astro Bot is based on rescuing 300 bots from many universes (many based on hit PlayStation franchises), it’s possible the platformer could add more crew to rescue in the new challenge stages reportedly coming after launch.

The Astro’s Playroom four hidden bots scattered around at the beginning of Summer were notably able to be brought into the Astro Bot platformer free of charge, so while DLC does appear to be on the way, it hasn’t been confirmed in an official statement with a release date. The incoming challenge DLC hasn’t been given a price yet either, so fans will have to wait to see whether Team Asobi will distribute more free content or if this time it will be paid content when they inevitably make an announcement.
