Update: Crews Working Two Fires South Of Crawford, Sioux County Fire Extinguished
Crawford and Chadron fire crews were working on two separate fires in Dawes County Monday evening, both in areas south of Crawford. Pine Ridge District Ranger Tim Buskirk said earlier on Monday that he had a crew responding to a fire at an area just off of the Nebraska National Forest and Grasslands north of Belmont, but by 7:00 pm had been released and allowed to return home.

Rainfall totals & tornadoes from the July 1st storms
On the night of July 1 into July 2, several rounds of heavy rain moved across eastern Nebraska and western Iowa. While most of us picked up on some rain, there was a corridor of very heavy rainfall amounts from Seward to Sarpy County to Des Moines. In this band, some locations received over 6" of rain, leading to significant flooding. One of the hardest hit areas was South Bend in Cass County, where a Flash Flood Emergency was issued for homes that were flooded.
