OPPD Workers Return From Helping Utilities In Iowa/Illinois
The Omaha Public Power District crews that went to Iowa and Illinois to assist with power restoration efforts after damaging storms are returning home to Nebraska. OPPD officials say that 17 employees were dispatched to Iowa and Illinois after thousands of people lost electricity following a derecho earlier this month. Incoming Husker freshman bowler Karina Capron took home the U18 title at the 2024 Junior Gold Championships in Allen Park, Mich., Saturday evening. Capron, the U12 2017 Junior Gold Champion, qualified for match play in sixth after five qualifying rounds. In matches of two games total pinfall, Capron defeated Maggie Smith 427-295, Amanda Lang 394-391 and Melia Mitskavich 395-373 before facing Kaitlyn Stull in a match to decide the placements for the tv show. Hastings man dies while in-custody of the Adams County Jail
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - A Hastings man has died while in custody at the Adams County Jail.
