Man found deceased in Colorado after failing to return from camping trip in rugged terrain
On Wednesday morning, officials announced that an overdue camper who was missing in the area of Colorado's Indian Peaks Wilderness was found deceased. The 36-year-old male camper was reportedly hiking and camping in the area of Lake Isabelle, which is accessed from the Brainard Lake Recreation Area, but failed to return home on the morning of August 26. Denver mayor outlines plan to turn former industrial site into neighborhood
Denver Mayor Mike Johnston outlined the plan Wednesday for the Fox Park Development which will turn a former industrial site into a new neighborhood. The 41-acre development is in Denver's Globeville neighborhood located on North Fox Street, west of I-25 and south of I-70. Johnston said the public-private partnership with the Environmental Protection Agency spent $40 million to clean up the once-industrial site and build a neighborhood. Grand Island program keeps at-risk NE youth out of detention facilities
A Grand Island-based organization is offering a diversion program cited in a new report as one of the most effective with at-risk youths. The intervention program is Multi-Systemic Therapy, or MST, which the Mid-Plains Center has offered for more than 20 years. In The Sentencing Project's report, MST is identified as having contributed to the 75% decline in youth incarceration between 2000 and 2022.
