    76-year-old charged for two New Mexico murders

    TAOS COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – Authorities said two people were shot and killed in New Mexico. One man was linked to the deaths, they reported.

    The New Mexico State Police (NMSP) said they responded to a shooting at a smoke shop on State Road 75 on Thursday and found a dead juvenile in the parking lot. She had multiple gunshot wounds.

    Additionally, officers were called to Chamisal, where they found Ruben Martinez dead in a driveway. He also had a gunshot wound.

    NMSP said Manuel Martinez, 76, came to officers at the scene and admitted to being involved. A revolved was discovered in his truck, they stated.

    Martinez was charged with two counts of murder and taken to the Taos County Adult Detention Center.

    Authorities are still investigating.
