UPDATE: Sholem Aquatic Center to reopen July 4th

Update at 4:43 p.m.

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — The main pool at the Sholem Aquatic Center will officially reopen for Independence Day.

Sholem staff made the announcement on Facebook on Wednesday afternoon. All amenities will once again become available starting Thursday. They thanked their operations staff for their quick work, and the community for their patience.

Workers noted that morning programs will return July 4, however, evening programs are cancelled. In the spirit of the holiday, they also mentioned that military and first responder discounts are available every day of the season.

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — Sholem Aquatic Center in Champaign is now one step closer to reopening their main pool, staff announced on Wednesday.

After experiencing mechanical problems , they have now received the replacement component required for filtration. Sholem staff now hopes to complete installation and have the pool reopened sometime this week.

Until then, the enclosed slides, tube slide, lazy river, and toddler areas remain available. For further updates, Sholem Aquatic Center says to keep an eye on their Rainout Line and Facebook pages.
