Illinois finished 3-6 in the Big Ten last season, 5-7 overall with Bret Bielema at the helm of the historic Midwestern football program.

On October 19, 2024, Coach Bielema's Illini will attempt to revive memories of their championship days with the donning of special uniforms designed to honor legendary halfback Red "The Galloping Ghost Grange," as part of a dedication game to the newly redesigned Memorial Stadium in Champaign, Ill.
"Representing 100 years of tradition, history and passion," Illinois football wrote on the team's official Twitter account.
The Fighting Illini will kick off the 2024 regular season on August 29 vs. the Eastern Illinois Panthers in Champaign.
They play one of the four Pac-12 teams entering the Big Ten Conference this season, Oregon, on October 26 in Eugene.
