    Man arrested after motorcycle pursuit last week in Grant County

    POTOSI, Wis. -- Grant County Sheriff's Office arrested a man last week after they said he led officers on a pursuit.

    Police said a the incident occurred on Aug 10 on south bound near Abing Road when officers noted a motorcycle traveling north bound at speeds of 90 MPH.

    Grant County Sheriff's Deputy reportedly attempted a traffic stop on the motorcycle near Substation Road. The motorcycle allegedly failed to stop, continued to speed up and a pursuit ensured.

    The motorcycle turned down Hudson Hollow Road, where the pursuit was stopped due to safety.

    Deputies identified the driver as a 42-year-old man from Fennimore.

    During the course of the investigation, deputies also determined the man to reportedly be intoxicated.

    The man was arrested and cited for speeding in a 55 mph zone (30-34 mph), OWI first offense, operating with a prohibited alcohol content (1st offense), and vehicle operator flee/eluding officer.

    The man was transported to the Grant County Jail, and later released to a responsible party.
